Frequently asked questions
What kind of photos do you need, and what makes a photo ideal for a 3D model?
Ideally, we work with a single, high-quality photograph that perfectly captures the expression and detail you wish to immortalise. However, submitting a small collection of photos (typically 3-5) from various angles helps our artists accurately understand the pet's unique characteristics.
An ideal photo has the following features:
High Clarity and Resolution: The image should be sharp, not blurry, allowing us to see fur texture, eye colour, and subtle features clearly.
Good, Even Lighting: Natural daylight is usually best, avoiding harsh shadows that obscure details.
Exclusivity: The photo should feature only the pet you wish to have modelled. Photos containing other animals or people can make the sculpting process more challenging and may affect the final accuracy.
If you are unsure about your photos, simply send them through—we are happy to review them before you place your order!
Can you create a model if my pet has passed away and I only have older or lower-resolution photos?
Yes, absolutely. Creating models for beloved pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge is one of the most meaningful aspects of our work. Many of the beautiful keepsakes we have created so far have been based on older or low-resolution photographs, and we have achieved wonderful results.
While a high-quality image is always preferred, we understand that this is not always possible. We can often overcome minor quality challenges by leveraging our expertise in the breed's standard characteristics, combined with a little extra detailed work from our sculpting team.
The most critical factor is the essence of the photo: Does the image clearly capture the unique personality, characteristic pose, or signature expression of your cherished companion? If the photo evokes their spirit, we are confident we can transform that memory into a lasting physical tribute.
How much does it cost?
Our standard, most popular 3D keepsake model is priced at £80.
This price point is for our "Standard Size" model, which typically measures between 17 cm and 18 cm along its longest dimension, providing an ideal balance of detail and presence for display.
Customisation and Budget Options
We understand that budget can be a factor, and we are happy to offer flexibility:
Smaller Models: We can reduce the size of the model to lower the cost. For instance, a half-face portrait model starts at £40.
Custom Quotes: For significantly larger models or specific requests, we provide a personalised, no-obligation quote based on material usage and the required 3D printing time.
We are committed to transparency: our pricing is calculated at a consistent rate of £10 per hour of printing time, ensuring fair value based on the resources required to create your detailed keepsake.
What if I don't like the final digital preview? Is there a revision process?
We guarantee your satisfaction with the digital design before the model ever goes to print.
Your approval of the final digital preview is a mandatory step, and we are committed to achieving a true likeness of your pet during this review phase.
Our Revision Policy
Initial Review Time: We allocate up to one hour of dedicated, back-and-forth review time between our design team and you, the client, to ensure the model accurately captures the essence of your pet. Most clients finalise their design well within this period.
Extended Revisions: If additional revisions are requested beyond the allocated one hour, we will communicate this clearly before proceeding. Further editing and reviewing time will incur an additional charge of £30 per hour, billed in one-hour increments. This charge is always agreed upon with your full permission before any extra work is undertaken.
Financial Commitment: Please rest assured that during the entire design and review process, there is no financial commitment from you. Payment is only required once you have fully approved the final digital design, just prior to us beginning the physical 3D print.
Do you offer different sizes or finishes (e.g., painted, single colour, bronze look)?
Yes, we offer a range of sizes and material finishes to suit your needs and budget.
Sizes and Pricing
As all our models are custom-sculpted specifically for your pet, the final size directly influences the cost due to the material and print time required (as detailed in our pricing section).
Standard Size (Our most popular): Typically 17–18 cm along the longest dimension (See FAQ for pricing).
Smaller Models: We can scale down models to suit your budget. If you require multiple copies or a smaller size after the initial design is complete, the cost for additional, smaller prints is significantly reduced, as the digital sculpting work has already been finalised.
Materials and Finishes
We utilise high-quality 3D printing filament, which provides a vast library of aesthetic finishes. When discussing your project, you can choose from various options, including:
Classic Finishes: Including single colours (e.g., white, black, grey), or speciality materials designed to mimic the appearance of stone or wood.
Artistic Finishes: Such as fluorescent or translucent filaments, offering unique visual effects.
Bronze/Metallic Looks: We can achieve a metallic aesthetic through specific filaments and post-processing treatments.
We will guide you through the material options best suited for your specific model during the consultation phase.
How long does the entire process take, from submitting my photo to receiving the finished model?
We aim to deliver your finished 3D model within 14 business days from the time you approve the final digital design.
Standard Lead Time:
We frequently achieve a quicker turnaround time, often delivering models in as little as 2 to 3 days once the printing process begins.
Variable Lead Time:
Since we are a small family business and every single model is bespoke, lead times can fluctuate based on seasonal demand (such as the Christmas period) and the complexity of the current projects in our queue. We commit to keeping you fully informed of the estimated completion date when you place your order.
